What will most likely be nominated at the 2025 Emmy Awards
Emmy nominations will be announced on July 15 and after a year of great TV, what will be nominated?
Emmy nominations are from June 1, 2024, to May 31, 2025, meaning any show that aired during that time frame will be eligible for a nomination.
With several returning favorites and new breakout shows, the 2025 Emmys will be unforgettable.
The predictions were made by Megan Camponovo, who covers entertainment for Hearst Television’s National Desk, along with other members of the National Desk staff.
Here is what we think will be nominated at the 2025 Emmys:
Drama:
“The Pitt”
“The Pitt” was a new but dominant and emotional show that showed the lives of doctors and nurses working in the emergency department at a Pittsburgh hospital.
The show takes a different approach from typical hospital dramas by having each episode be one singular hour of a shift and making the whole season be one day. This unique approach quickly attracted viewers and kept audiences on the edge of their seats each week.
This new show quickly became a hit, captivating every generation, and will most likely be rewarded by earning an Emmy nomination for its first season.
Leading the dramatic show was veteran hospital actor Noah Wylie, who was a dominant presence, captivating audiences. It can be inferred that Wylie will be competing for Best Actor in a Drama.
“The White Lotus”
“The White Lotus” is an Emmys darling, with each previous season being nominated. But it also took the world by storm, with everyone talking about the show and referencing iconic quotes. With its cultural significance and past nominations, it can be assured that “White Lotus” will earn a Best Drama nomination.
“The White Lotus” is unique in the fact that there are so many different and complex characters; however, when it comes to award shows, it means that all the actors and actresses will be placed in the same categories.
For season three, the two actors who will definitely be getting Best Supporting Actor in a Drama nominations are Walton Goggins and Jason Isaacs.
In the Best Supporting Actress in a Drama category, Carrie Coon and Parker Posey will receive the nominations.
Sam Rockwell, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Aimee Lou Wood and Leslie Bibb may receive nominations in their respective categories, but since the category is so packed with “The White Lotus” stars, it is hard to ensure all of them will get nominated.
ٱ𱹱Գ”
ٱ𱹱Գ” gave an even weirder and more creative second season than ever imagined.
Taking the favorite elements from the first season and making them even better, it can be predicted that ٱ𱹱Գ” will be earning a Best Drama nomination, and it may even earn the most nominations at this year’s award ceremony.
After being nominated for the first season and delivering an even better performance, Adam Scott can basically be guaranteed a nomination for Best Actor in a Drama.
Playing a crazier version of her normal character, Britt Lower will also most likely earn a nomination for Best Actress in a Drama.
After winning Best Supporting Actress in a Drama for its first season, it will be no surprise when Patricia Arquette is nominated once again for her role in the show.
It's slightly harder to predict, but it can also be inferred that Tramell Tillman and John Turturro will earn nominations for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama. Based on the stacked category at the 2025 Emmys from “The White Lotus” nominations, there is a possibility that only Tillman or Turturro will be nominated instead of both.
Comedy:
“H”
Reigning Best Comedy show at the Emmys, “Hacks,” is also basically guaranteed a nomination at the 2025 Emmys after premiering another hilarious season in April.
Aside from the show, after winning Best Actress in a Comedy at the 2024 awards, Jean Smart will earn another nomination and defend her title.
It can be predicted that Smart’s co-star Hannah Einbinder will earn a nomination for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy and attempt to finally win for “H” alongside Smart.
“The Bear”
Another Emmys darling, “The Bear,” is another confident prediction to earn an Emmy nomination. After winning Best Comedy at the 2023 Emmys and earning a nomination for every other season, “The Bear” will for sure be in contention for a prize.
After winning Best Actor in a Comedy two years in a row, another lock-in for a nomination is the star of “The Bear,” Jeremy Allen White. While White may have more competition to win the award, it will be no shock when he is nominated.
Alongside White, Ayo Edebiri and Ebon Moss-Bacharach can also be predicted to be nominated for their roles in “The Bear.” Bacharach has won for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy previously for his role and is a guarantee for another nomination. Edebiri will also most likely be nominated for Best Actress in a Comedy; however, her race will be harder to win.
“The Studio”
“The Studio” was a new breakout show that displayed the inside of Hollywood and the art of making movies. It is a show for people who love the art of filmmaking while also having a hilarious and out-of-the-box energy behind it.
Since it was released, people have been talking about the impact it has on Hollywood and making movies, and for that reason, it can be predicted to rack up some nominations, including Best Comedy.
Creator and star Seth Rogen gives a hilarious performance as a studio head struggling in the age of streaming and reboots. Rogen will most likely earn a nomination for Best Actor in a Comedy and challenge White for the award.
Ike Barinholtz gives an equally, if not even more hilarious, performance than Rogen as his second-hand man. It can also be predicted that Barinholtz will earn a nomination for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy.
