VIDEO: A family's missing French bulldog found 1,000 miles away in Chicago
A Houston man has been joyfully reunited with his French bulldog, Covic, after the dog went missing for ten days.
Covic was discovered over 1,000 miles away in Chicago, a location that surprised his owners, Luc and Loi Nguyen, who are brothers.
On May 14, the brothers were distracted while opening their garage door, and the dog escaped.
"We just thought that's it, we lost the dog forever," Luc Nguyen told Troy Kless.
Initially, they feared Covic had been stolen and posted flyers around their neighborhood and on social media.
Ten days later, they received an unexpected call from a woman in Chicago who had seen their Facebook posts.
"She said, 'This might be your dog. I can FaceTime and show you,'" Luc recalled.
It turned out that the dog the woman had was Covic. The woman had unknowingly purchased him at Chicago Midway Airport, not realizing he was missing.
After confirming Covic's identity, Loi Nguyen expressed his relief, saying, "I was really happy to see he's still alive and he's fine."
Luc Nguyen flew to Chicago to bring Covic home, and the brothers paid the $1,000 reward they had offered for his return.
