WATCH: Police chase stolen Amazon delivery truck
Police in California say a home invasion suspect led officers on a destructive chase in an Amazon delivery truck he car-jacked.
Slamming into innocent drivers, 32-year-old Quintin Jarnall Larks drove through multiple California cities attempting to get away from police after allegedly assaulting and robbing a 23-year-old woman in her home.
"I thought I was gonna die. Like, I'm gonna die! He keeps hitting my head," said the woman, who remained anonymous because of her fear of the suspect.
The woman now has cuts and bruises all over her body after her encounter with Larks.
She says he broke into her home Monday evening to rob it. But when he saw her, he beat her viciously with a piece of wood.
"When he was hitting me, he said, 'Where's my pistol?' When he said that, I really thought I was going to die," she said.
Fortunately for the victim, the suspect eventually left. Police say Larks then robbed another home located in the same neighborhood before stealing the delivery van.
After a short pursuit, police were able to track Larks down and arrest him.
Larks has been charged with attempted murder, home invasion robbery, carjacking, assault with a deadly weapon, evading arrest and suspicion of DUI.
