Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio charged with conspiracy in Capitol riot
FBI Director Christopher Wray accused former President Trump supporters of domestic terrorism after carrying out a deadly attack on the U. S capital on January 6. Reuters reports that more than 300 people have faced charges ranging from conspiracy to attack police to obstructing Congress. Ray told lawmakers on the Senate Judiciary Committee that the attack was criminal behavior, plain and simple in its behavior that we, the FBI view as domestic terrorism. The FBI has received more than 270,000 tips that have helped identify numerous people who allegedly participated in the attack, according to the Hill. At least 18 people from the far right group Proud Boys have been charged in nine people associated with the Oath keepers, an anti government militia. Groups are facing charges. Supporters of Trump have made claims that the rioters were actually fake Trump supporters who belong to the Antifa movement. Ray told lawmakers that this is false, and while the FBI is looking for evidence to support this, they haven't found any. This was his first testimony since the attack, designed to block Congress from certifying Joe Biden's election victory
