Rihanna reveals her third pregnancy ahead at the Met Gala
Rihanna is usually very fashionably late to the Met Gala, and sure enough, she finally arrived to this year’s event shortly after 10 p.m. But her arrival was worth the wait, as it came with some big news: She and A$AP Rocky are expecting their third child.
The singer posed on the blue carpet wearing a suit-inspired look by Marc Jacobs. The ensemble featured a wool jacket, a tailored skirt with a tied-jacket bustle, and a polka dot satin cravat. Her gray corseted bodysuit showed off her baby bump. She finished off the ensemble with ankle-chain pumps, a custom Marc Jacobs x Stephen Jones hat, and Cartier jewelry.
Inside the Met Gala, she posed with Rocky.
She made an appearance earlier in the night, as Rocky is a co-chair for this year’s event. Before she even stepped foot on the official red carpet, Rihanna used her fitted two-piece Miu Miu look to make a pregnancy reveal.
Rocky and Rihanna last attended the Met Gala in 2023. Rihanna had been pregnant with their second child, Riot, at the time. She looked bridal in a flower-adorned, hooded gown by Valentino. Rocky, meanwhile, was sharp in a suit jacket, skinny tie, jeans, and a kilt.
Rihanna and Rocky have been dating for over five years. In April 2024, the beauty entrepreneur spoke to about becoming more than friends with Rocky.
Their similar values ultimately attracted her: “We saw fashion the same. We saw creative the same. We ended up in the same circles a lot,” Rihanna said. “And past that, when we grew up, we ended up supporting each other’s brands and products and creative all the time. I would wear his shit, he would show up to my launches. But it wasn’t until the end of 2019 [that our relationship became romantic].”
“We’ve known each other for a long time,” she added. “I’ve seen him in relationships. He’s seen me in relationships. We’ve seen each other outside of relationships. We knew what we’re capable of, and the trouble that we could bring to each other’s lives. We can make or break each other’s hearts. And so, we started dating with a lot of caution. I just let whatever was supposed to happen, happen. It was just, ‘This is a flower. It’s either going to die or blossom. But I’m going to let it decide itself.’”
