Whisper Owen and her 8-month-old daughter Sandra McCarty have been missing since July 15; they were heading home to Sacramento from Fresno but never arrived.

OWEN AND HER BABY. NO ONE HAS SEEN OR TALKED TO THEM. HEARD THEM? HER CAR IS NO LONGER POPPING UP ON ANY TRAFFIC CAMS. HER PHONE’S BEEN OFF. YOUR MIND GOES THROUGH ALL THE TERRIBLE POSSIBILITIES. IT’S BEEN TEN DAYS SINCE 36 YEAR WHISPER OWEN AND HER EIGHT MONTH OLD DAUGHTER, SANDRA MCCARTY, VANISHED. IT’S PRETTY CRAZY TO HAVE MY LITTLE BABY SISTER ON A ON A MISSING FLIER. SOMETHING HAPPENED TO MY DAUGHTER AND HER LITTLE BABY, AND THEY’RE NOT TAKING THIS SERIOUSLY. VICKI TORRES WAS THE LAST PERSON TO SEE THEM AFTER A FAMILY VISIT IN FRESNO. SHE WAS HERE FOR A DOCTOR’S APPOINTMENT FOR THE BABY. EVERYTHING WENT WELL. WE HAD A WONDERFUL VISIT. SHE TOLD ME HOW EVERYTHING WAS SO GOOD AT HOME. SHE SAYS OWEN LEFT HER HOME IN FRESNO AT AROUND 5 P.M. ON JULY 15TH, AND WAS HEADED TO SACRAMENTO. FRESNO AUTHORITIES SAY JUST THREE HOURS LATER, AT 8 P.M., TRAFFIC CAMERAS CAPTURED OWEN’S VEHICLE IN ATWATER. HER LAST KNOWN LOCATION. THE ONLY THING SHE HAD TO DO WAS STOP AND GET A CAN OF FORMULA, BECAUSE SHE WAS ON HER LAST BOTTLE. IT WASN’T UNTIL JULY 19TH THAT HER FAMILY REALIZED SHE NEVER MADE IT HOME. HER LOVED ONES IN SACRAMENTO ASSUMED SHE WAS STILL IN FRESNO. AS SOON AS SHE GETS HOME, SHE CALLS ME. THE NEXT DAY. AND. BUT SHE DIDN’T. AND, YOU KNOW, A COUPLE DAYS WENT BY AND THAT’S WHEN BOB CALLED AND SAID, SHE’S NOT HERE. DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHERE YOUR DAUGHTER COULD BE? SHE DIDN’T RUN AWAY. SHE IS A NEW MOM. SHE’S GOT A GOOD HOME LIFE. SHE HAS. SHE HAS THREE OTHER CHILDREN. TORRES BELIEVES NOT ENOUGH IS BEING DONE TO FIND THEM. THE NOT KNOWING IS. IT’S BROUGHT ME TO A POINT WHERE I’M. IT’S A CROSS BETWEEN ANGER AND NUMB. AND I’M TERRIFIED. I’M JUST TERRIFIED. THEY’VE SPENT THEIR DAYS SEARCHING FOR THEM. THEY KIND OF WALKED THE BOULEVARD WHERE SHE WAS LAST SEEN. THEIR HOPE IS THEY CAN GET ANSWERS THAT BRING OWEN AND MCCARTY HOME SOON. WE JUST WANT TO FIND THEM BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE. AND YOU CAN JUST UNDERSTAND HOW THAT FRUSTRATION IS GROWING. NOW, HERE’S ANOTHER LOOK AT THEIR VEHICLE. IT’S A SILVER 2006 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER WITH A CALIFORNIA LICENSE PLATE. THAT LICENSE PLATE IS NINE. LAKE H008. AN IMPORTANT DETAIL IS IT HAS A MISSING DRIVER’S SIDE HEADLIGHT, AND ANYONE THAT HAS INFORMATION CAN CONTACT FRESNO POLICE. IN THE NEWSROOM, CATALINA ESTRADA KCRA T
