TRICKS. THE Ï»¿8 ON YOUR SIDE TEAM HAS BEEN YOU ABOUT THE EXPLOSION OF SCAM TEXT FOR MONTHS NOW, BUT THAT DOESN’T. SCAMMERS HAVE ABANDONED SOME OF THEIR OLD METHODS. HERE’S AN EMAIL SCAM SENT TO ME BY A VIEWER. IT CLAIMS TO BE COMING FROM MICROSOFT, OFT TELLING THE RECIPIENT THAT THERE HAS BEEN UNUSUAL SIGNING ACTIVITY ON THEIR ACCOUNT IN RUSSIA. AN IP ADDRESS, TIME, COMPUTER PLATFORM AND BROWSER ALL LISTED ALL TO MAKE THIS MORE OFFICIAL. AND OF COURSE, THERE ARE LINKS TO CLICK ON THE REPORT. THE USER OR RECEIVE SECURITY NOTICES. BOTH OF THOSE LINKS CONNECT A GMAIL ADDRESS NOT TO MICROSOFT. SO YOUR FIRST WARNING SIGN THAT THIS IS A SCAM THE SENDER’S EMAIL ADDRESS. CHECK OUT LINE OF ABSOLUTE GIBBERISH, THE TOP OF THE EMAIL. MICROSOFT WILL SEND YOU EMAILS ABOUT ACCOUNT ACTIVITY, BUT THIS IS EMAIL ADDRESS. IT COMES FROM YOU CAN TELL THIS IS COMING FROM MICROSOFT. THIS IS NOT A SCAM THAT JUST TARGETS MICROSOFT OFF CUSTOMERS, THOUGH. THE NAMES OF ALL COMPUTER RELATED COMPANIES HAVE BEEN USED IN THIS ONE. APPLE GOOGLE, NORTON, SYMANTEC, THE LIST GOES ON AND ON. IF YOU GET AN EMAIL LIKE THIS AND YOU HAVE EVEN THE SLIGHTEST ABOUT IT, TRUST YOUR GUT. DO RESPOND TO IT. DO NOT CLICK ON ANY LINKS. LOG INTO YOUR ACCOUNT DIRECTLY THE WAY YOU NORMALLY DO AND SEE IF YOUR ACCOUNT IS OKAY. I’M BRIA
