School celebrates retirement of rehabilitative support dog Carmen
SEAN. THERE WAS A ROUGH RETIREMENT IN BALTIMORE COUNTY MONDAY. CARMEN, THE REHABILITATIVE FACILITY DOG FOR SAINT VINCENT VILLA AND VILLA MARIA SCHOOL, IS STEPPING AWAY AFTER EIGHT YEARS OF SERVICE. WELL, THE VILLA PROVIDES RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT FOR CHILDREN WITH BEHAVIORAL AND EMOTIONAL NEEDS, AND CARMEN IS PART OF THEIR CARE. WELL, THE SCHOOL PROVIDES SIMILAR CARE TO STUDENTS. ALL IN ALL, CARMEN HAS HELPED ABOUT 130 CHILDREN EACH YEAR. BUT NOT ONLY FOR THE KIDS. SHE’S HERE FOR THEIR FAMILIES AND THE STAFF AS WELL. SHE PROVIDES A CALMING INFLUENCE ON THEM, AND SHE PROVIDES LIGHT DURING SOME OF THEIR DARKEST TIMES. WELL, CARMEN, WE THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE A

A Baltimore County school celebrated the retirement of its rehabilitative facility dog.Carmen is stepping away from St. Vincent's Villa and Villa Maria School after eight years of service.The villa provides residential treatment for children with behavioral and emotional needs, and Carmen has been part of their care. The school provides similar care to students, and Carmen has helped about 130 children each year."But not only for the kids, she's here for families and the staff, as well. She provides a calming influence on them and she provides light during some of their darkest times," said Ezra Buchdahl, the school's administrator.
