breaks down today's competition. (áááSTEVEááá) A search party in Des Moines spent all day - looking for any sign of a missing Roosevelt High School student. (áááSTACEYááá) 18-year-old Abdi Sharif disappeared more than a month ago - after leaving his job at the Target Store in Merle Hay Mall. vlog's Cynthia Fodor spent the afternoon with the searchers. She tells us what it was like. (áááCynthiaááá More than a hundred people showed up here on Hickman just west of MLK this morning and fanned out in a 3 mile radius north to the VA Hospital and south to Drake University <"16;25 SOME WILL CROSS WITH ME AND GO ON THE OTHER SIDEááááááá"> Friends and complete strangers came.. (jIM sHELDON) <"36;26 I SAID YEAH, LET'S DO IT, I'M RETIRED GET OUT AND HELP."> (NATASHA NEWCOMB) <"35;02 AS A MOTHER I COULDN'T HELP MYSELF, IF I WERE IN THE SAME SITUATION ID WANT EVERYONE TO COME IF THEY COULD."> holding onto hope and the last picture of Abdullahi Sharif in a navy coat, khaki pants, blue shoes. <"25;54 THEY'RE LOOKING FOR ANY EVIDENCE, PIECE OF CLOTHING, CELL PHONES THAT GIVES A LEADáááááááá"> Searchers fanned out near the cell tower by Broadlawn's Hospital where Sharif's cell phon last pinged at 5:47 January 17th. <"32;24 THEY'RE SHOES, BUT NOT TENNIS SHOES."> All eyes surveying the snow covered ground <"32;32 I SAW A LITTLE BLUE COLOR I THOUGHT áááááá"> for any sign of anything suspicious. <"áááá31;26 I PULLED UP ONE THING, LOOKED LIKE A COAT, WELL MAYBE IT'S BLUE, BUT IT TURNED OUT TO BE A SHEET."> They were told to go slowly, stay alert, and be aware of cliffs and ditches. <"áááááááá19;52 THIS IS TOTAL ICE BENEATH OUR FEET CLIMBING OVER BRANCHES AND AROUND TREES, BUT SO FAR WE FOUN CYNTHIA: SHARIF’S SISTER SAYS THE FAMILY WILL NOT GIVE UP SEARCHING UNTIL THEY FIN ANSWERS. >> HOPEFULLY HE SEES THIS OR KNOWS WE’RE LOOKING AND WE’RE WORRIED AND CONCERNED AND WE WANT HIM HOM CYNTHIA: I JUST SPOKE WITH POLICE AND THEY TELL ME THE SEARCH HAS NOT TURNED UP ANY NEW EVIDENCE SO FAR. MANY OF THE SEARCHERS PLANNED TO STAY OUT UNTIL THE SUN WENT DOWN . WE JUST SAW A FEW THEM COMING IN A FEW MOMENTS AGO. STEVE AND STACY? HUNDREDS OF STUDENTS AND TEACHERS SPORTED BLUE RIBBONS THE ROOSEVELT LIBRARY AND LISTENED AS THOSE CLOSEST TO SHARIF TOLD THEM THE IMPORTANCE OF HIS CASE. THOSE SPEAKERS SAY THEY’LL KEEP HOLDING EVENTS TO KEEP SHARIF FRESH IN EVERYONE’S MIND. More than 100 people formed a search party Friday in hopes of finding a missing Roosevelt High School student. Abdullahi "Abdi" Sharif, 18, disappeared Jan. 17 after leaving his job at the Target Store in Merle Hay Mall. The search party gathered at Freedom Blend Coffee, located at MLK Parkway and Hickman Road, and fanned out in a 3-mile radius.Sharif was last seen wearing a navy coat, khaki pants and blue shoes. According to authorities, his cellphone last pinged Jan. 17 at 5:47 p.m. near the cell tower by Broadlawn's Hospital. Ifrah Muhumed, Sharif's sister, said her family will not give up searching until they find answers. "I'm really grateful for everybody who's been helping out and spreading the words about my brother," she said.
