Small businesses are preparing for a busy holiday season. Here's their advice to shoppers
With the holiday season approaching, the shopping frenzy is already in full swing.
At the Outlets of Des Moines in Altoona, small businesses are beginning to experience an influx of eager holiday shoppers. The owners of Posey & Jett's are preparing for their busiest time of the year.
Becky Brehm, one of the shop's owners, points out that while the shopping season feels early, foot traffic typically begins to rise in mid-November, especially on weekends.
To manage the demand, Brehm is busy maintaining inventory stocks, having items shipped by the dozen.
Supporting local stores is crucial, particularly during the holidays, but one thing they ask of shoppers is to use cash. Credit card fees can severely affect small businesses' profits.
