Mother and daughter killed, 3 injured by suspected tornado in Tennessee

Mother and daughter killed, 3 injured by suspected tornado in Tennessee
Good evening. This is Captain Heather Lee with the Tennessee Highway Patrol in the Knoxville District. Earlier this evening, Morgan County sustained some structure damage from high winds and possibly *** tornado, but that has not been verified at this time. Regardless, Tennessee Highway Patrol troopers responded immediately to assist. Right now we have the strike team. Activated and they are en route as well to make sure that we assist the Morgan County Sheriff's Department, EMA, any other emergency personnel that are on site. That is our mission to make sure that we help. We look for any people that are missing and we assist in any way we can. Just know that we are on scene, we are assisting, and we'd appreciate that people would stay away from the area at this time and let us do our job and let us try to assist and help and make sure that the residents of Morgan County are safe. Also, we are available. Um, and possibly we'll respond to other parts of the state if necessary. But right now it looks like Morgan County is where we are needed to assist and uh we will continue to, to provide updates.
