Tesla driver crashes into Girl Scout stand in California, arrested for suspicion of DUI
A man was arrested after driving his Tesla into a Girl Scout stand near the front entrance of a Walmart in Granite Bay, California, on Saturday, the California Highway Patrol's Auburn division said.
According to CHP Auburn, 69-year-old Gary Benson crashed the vehicle around 3:50 p.m. at the location at Sierra College and Douglas Boulevard.
CHP said that a 10-year-old and a 9-year-old were transported to the hospital with moderate injuries.
Both juveniles were Girls Scouts who were working the stand, CHP said.
A 78-year-old woman was transported to the hospital with major injuries.
The driver was arrested for suspicion of being under the influence of substances while driving, and police said he will be booked into the Placer County jail on Saturday night.
