On Friday, President Donald Trump’s administration made an emergency appeal to the Supreme Court and proposed significant budget changes, while also threatening Harvard's tax-exempt status.

After a busy week celebrating 100 days in office, President Donald Trump's administration took several major steps Friday. The administration made an emergency appeal to the Supreme Court, seeking permission for the Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE, to access Social Security systems containing Americans' personal data. That move comes after a judge restricted access based on federal privacy laws. The White House also rolled out Trump's first budget proposal since he returned to office, asking Congress to cut more than $160 billion in non-defense spending while increasing budgets for the Pentagon and Homeland Security.Meanwhile, Trump reiterated his threat on social media to revoke Harvard University's tax-exempt status after the university defied his administration's efforts to crack down on campus activism. This all follows Trump's signing of an executive order on Thursday, aiming to cut federal funding for PBS and NPR, accusing them of biased reporting. PBS CEO Paula Kerger called the move "blatantly unlawful" and promised to challenge the decision. The president will close out the busy week at the RNC Spring Gala at Mar-a-Lago Friday night.
