Americans question Trump’s transparency on Epstein, UMass Amherst national poll finds
THAT IS NOT GOING AWAY. BEING HERE AND ON DEMOCRATIC HOUSE MINORITY WHIP KATHERINE CLARK CALLING FOR TRANSPARENCY FROM THE PRESIDENT AND ACCUSING HIM OF A COVER UP FOR NOT RELEASING THE EPSTEIN FILES, THIS WAS ONE OF THE THE PRINCIPAL PROMISES THAT DONALD TRUMP HAS MADE. EVERYBODY’S KNOWN. HE’S BEEN ASSOCIATED WITH JEFFREY EPSTEIN. BUT THIS 180 THAT HE’S DONE IS A COVER UP. THE DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE WRAPPING UP A SECOND DAY OF QUESTIONING, GHISLAINE MAXWELL IN FLORIDA. SHE’S EPSTEIN’S FORMER GIRLFRIEND, NOW SERVING 20 YEARS IN PRISON FOR RECRUITING UNDERAGE GIRLS TO BE SEXUALLY ABUSED BY EPSTEIN BEFORE LEAVING FOR SCOTLAND, PRESIDENT TRUMP WAS ASKED ABOUT PARDONING MAXWELL. IT’S SOMETHING I HAVEN’T THOUGHT ABOUT. IT’S REALLY SOMETHING THEY RECOMMENDED. IT’S SOMETHING I’M ALLOWED TO DO IT, BUT IT’S SOMETHING I HAVE NOT THOUGHT ABOUT. THE HOUSE OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE IS PLANNING TO DEPOSE MAXWELL NEXT MONTH. CONGRESSMAN STEPHEN LYNCH SAYING THERE IS STILL A LOT OF UNANSWERED QUESTIONS. WHY SUCH LENIENCY WAS WAS GIVEN TO TO EPSTEIN, GIVEN THE NUMBER OF VICTIMS AND THE NUMBER OF VICTIMS WHO WERE WILLING TO COME FORWARD WITH THEIR FAMILIES. CONGRESSWOMAN CLARK SAYING SHE BELIEVES THIS HAS BECOME A TRUST ISSUE FOR THE PRESIDENT, AND CRITICIZED THE HOUSE SPEAKER FOR SENDING MEMBERS HOME EARLY BEFORE ANY VOTE COULD HAPPEN. IT’S EXTREMELY DAMAGING TO THEM, AND THAT IS WHY THEY SENT US HOME. NOW, MAXWELL IS CONTINUING TO APPEAL HER CONVICTION, AND CONGRESSMAN LYNCH, WHO IS ON THE OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE, BELIEVES THEY’LL BE ABLE TO DEPOSE MAXWELL THE SECOND WEEK IN AUGUST.
