USPS price increases on stamps, other mail start July 13
The price of a U.S. postage stamp goes up today.
Senior U.S. Postal Service representative Marti Johnson confirmed the price increase for first-class "forever" stamps from 73 cents to 78 cents.

In addition to the 7.4% price increase on stamps, the USPS is also implementing increases on other items, including the following:
• Domestic postcards: 56 cents to 62 cents
• Letters: 69 cents to 74 cents
• Letters (1 ounce): 73 cents to 78 cents
• Additional ounce price for single letters: 28 cents to 29 cents
• International postcards: $1.65 to $1.70
• International letter (1 ounce): $1.65 to $1.70
All of the new prices go into effect July 13.
In an April press release detailing the proposed increases that were later reviewed and approved by the Postal Regulatory Commission, USPS officials said the price adjustments were necessary for financial stability.
