A woman from Lisbon shared video with sister station Maine's Total Coverage (WMTW) of a close encounter she had over the weekend.Kim Roy says she was in a canoe with her father on Moosehead Lake when they spotted a bull moose wading in front of them. The moose stared at them as it calmly walked past toward shore.Moosehead Lake is a large lake in Piscataquis County, which is in Northwestern Maine. Roy estimated the moose is about 4 years old.The Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife shared some tips earlier this year to give you the best chance of seeing a moose.In 2024, a video shared with WMTW showed a bull moose getting up close and personal with a man before the animal ultimately charged at him and knocked him down.The man told WMTW that he walked into a large swamp in Aroostook County to set up a few game cameras when he heard the bellowing sound of a cow moose in heat.
