'He went limp in my arms': Wife recalls fatal moment husband was sucked into MRI machine
Adrienne Jones-McAllister is sharing new details about the day her husband, Keith McAllister, died after being pulled into an MRI machine at a New York medical facility.
"I saw the machine snatch him around and pull him into the machine. He lost, he went limp in my arms," Adrienne .
The incident occurred at Nassau Open MRI in Westbury, after Adrienne had an MRI on her knee and requested assistance from her husband.
Although Keith was wearing a 20-pound chain with a large lock for weight training, the technician brought him into the room.
"They were standing there laughing and joking before he even came to the table," Adrienne said.
As Keith approached to help his wife, the unthinkable happened.
"At that instant, the machine swished him around, pulled him in, and he hit the MRI," she said.
Adrienne and the technician attempted to free Keith from the machine but were unsuccessful.
"I was saying, 'Could you turn off the machine, call 911, do something, turn this damn thing off?'" she said.
Adrienne noted that it was not the couple's first visit to the MRI center where the incident occurred and that Keith had worn the chain there before without incident.
Following the incident, Keith suffered several heart attacks and passed away at the age of 61.
"And I loved him so much," Adrienne said.
