'Truly a nightmare': 28-year-old in ICU for days battling COVID-19
A 28-year-old woman who caught COVID-19 and did not get a vaccine said getting the shot will be one of the first things she does when she is able and out of the hospital.
Claire Pride, of Madison, Mississippi, said she was in the ICU at Baptist Hospital in Jackson for five nights while she battled COVID-19 for nearly two weeks.
"It was truly a nightmare that at points, I thought, 'I don't know that I'll wake up from this. It will be like this the rest of my life,'" said Pride.
Pride said she did not have any underlying health conditions before she got sick. She said she did not think she would get the virus because of her age.
Pride said, "I did have that mentality and I hate that I had to learn from my mistake."
Pride said she plans to get an appointment to get vaccinated because she said she never wants to end up back in the hospital.
