Perhaps the biggest contributor to ISU's success has been the play of freshman Addy Brown. Brown's efforts last week earned recognition from the league, which named her Big 12 Freshman of the Week.
Iowa State won a pair of games — first a home game vs. Kansas, followed by a road trip at BYU — thanks in part to a combined 38 points, 21 rebounds and 7 assists in the two games from Brown. Brown's late 3-pointer sealed the win at BYU.
The Cyclones' star freshman is averaging 15.1 points, 9.2 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game through 14 games at the collegiate level.
Fellow freshman Audi Crooks won the award just a week ago.
The Cyclones return to Hilton Coliseum on Wednesday vs. No. 24 West Virginia.
