The Forever stamp, based on a 2010 photo of White, is a work by Massachusetts artist Dale Stephanos.The Postal Service said the first stamps will be released on March 27 in Los Angeles. Dale Stephanos has done many pieces in the past, but never a postage stamp. He believes this one captures the comedian's iconic personality."She always had a mischievous look in her eye. You know, she was a little bit terrifying, very funny, very charismatic. But you always had the feeling that you had to sort of sit up straight if you were in her presence," he said. Dale Stephanos shared a secret about the picture ā hiding in plain sight. White was an animal rights activist her entire life, and her family wanted her passion to be part of the stamp. Dale Stephanos paid tribute with an earring in the shape of a paw print. The beloved television pioneer died in 2021 at the age of 99.
