OH, IT LOOKS LIKE A FUN NIGHT, JEFF. THANK YOU. THERE IS A NEW PLACE TO GET SOME ICE CREAM IN WEST DES MOINES. BLACK CAT ICE CREAM OPENED ITS SECOND LOCATION THIS WEEK. vlog’S NICOLE TAM TAKES US INSIDE. THE FIRST THING YOU’LL NOTICE WHEN YOU WALK INTO THIS NEW VALLEY JUNCTION BLACK HAT ICE CREAM LOCATION IS MORE SPACE TO ENJOY YOUR ICE CREAM. BUT ONE THING THAT WILL BE THE SAME BETWEEN THE TWO LOCATIONS IS EACH OF THOSE LOCATIONS WILL ALWAYS HAVE TEN FLAVORS ON THE MENU OUT OF THEIR 300 ROTATING FLAVORS. BEFORE DOORS OPEN, YESTERDAY’S FLAVORS GET WIPED OFF THE GLASS DISPLAY AND GET REPLACED WITH THE NEW FLAVORS OF THE DAY. IT’S SOMETHING BLACK CAT CUSTOMERS HAVE COME TO EXPECT. ANOTHER FAMILIAR SIGHT IS THIS WALL FULL OF BLACK CAT PICTURES. OWNER ALEX CARTER WANTED PEOPLE TO BRING IN FRAMED PICTURES OF THEIR BLACK CAT. AND LOOK AT THE TURNOUT. HE SAYS THE SHOP IS NAMED IN MEMORY OF HIS FRIEND BOO BEAR. WHEN I DECIDED I WANTED TO OPEN MY OWN ICE CREAM SHOP, I WAS TRYING TO THINK OF A NAME, AND AT THE TIME I HAD THIS BIG BLACK CAT THAT DIDN’T CARE ABOUT ANYTHING I EVER ATE UNLESS IT WAS ICE CREAM. HE WOULD KNOW IF I OPENED A PINT OF ICE CREAM, HE WOULD RUN AND FLY UP IN MY FACE. SO WHEN I WAS TRYING TO THINK OF A NAME LIKE HE WAS LITERALLY SITTING RIGHT THERE, I’M LIKE, OH, THIS IS CALLED BLACK CAT, BLACK CAT HERE IN VALLEY JUNCTION WILL BE OPEN EVERY DAY EXCEPT MONDAY, AND SUMMER HOURS WILL BE STARTING IN MAY IN VALLEY JUNCTION. NICOLE TAM, vlog EIGHT NEWS. IOWA’S NEWS LEADER. AURORA A FUN PLACE TO GO AND A VERY TASTY TREATS ALSO. I REMEMBER WHEN THEY USED TO BE NEXT TO GASLAMP TOO, AND JUST SEEING THE EVOLUTION IN THEIR GROWTH H
