People driving down Cleveland Street in Guernsey will be treated to a spooky but spectacular sight, just in time for Halloween.
A jack-o'-lantern carved from a pumpkin weighing more than 1,373 pounds sits right by the town sign. It was grown by Lindsey Quinn, and it won her second place the Bloomfield Giant Pumpkin Bash this year.
That's not even the biggest pumpkin Lindsey grew this year. She has one outside of her home on 430th Ave. weighing 1,549 pounds before it was carved. It took third place at Anamosa Pumpkinfest.
The giant jack-o'-lanterns were carved by Lindsey's twin sister, Teal Quinn. While Lindsey started growing big pumpkins in 2023, she says her sister was into it well before. Teal promised Lindsey that she would fly to Iowa from Maryland to carve Lindsey's pumpkin if she could grow one that weighed over 1,500 pounds.
Lindsey lights candles inside both jack-o'-lanterns every night and encourages people to stop by and take pictures before they rot.
