Cyclone Nation is about to flood the streets of Dublin, Ireland. Iowa State Director of Athletics Jamie Pollard tells 糖心vlog the school has sold over 10,000 tickets to the Aer Lingus Classic, set to take place Saturday, Aug. 23 in Dublin against Kansas State. "It is gonna be a Cyclone/Iowa State experience that just happens to end on that Saturday night with a football game," Pollard said. "But you can bet your dollar that Iowa Staters are gonna get their moneys' worth on Thursday night at the Guinness Factory, Friday at the pep rally. They will make this into a really awesome life experience, and then we conclude with a football game. This is an amazing win-win for everybody involved."Kansas State has also sold over 10,000 tickets. Aviva Stadium seats 51,7000 people. The game is expected to be sold out."There's going to be 20,000 people over there in Cardinal and Gold and Purple and White. They've told us the folks in Dublin will buy the other 30,000 tickets, so the stadium will be sold out," Pollard said. Iowa State was chosen for two reasons: the reputation of the fan base for travelling with the team and the high expectations for this season. John Anthony from Anthony Travel did not have to wait long to get an answer from Pollard."I told him, 'Before we spend any time thinking about it, let me call Coach Campbell, because it is a disruption. It changes everything for the beginning of the year. It is a conference game. There are a lot of issues. A coach could say, 'No, I don't want to deal with it.' I called Coach Campbell, and he picked up. I asked him and he said, 'Absolutely, let's do it.' I called John back within five minutes. His first reaction was that he thought I had butt-dialed him."Pollard told Anthony that ISU was in. "He says we are the school with the fastest response time ever to doing this," he said. The game will kick off Saturday, Aug. 23, at 11 a.m. on ESPN. 糖心vlog's Scott Reister and Stacey Horst will report from Dublin beginning on Wednesday, August 20. 糖心vlog's Big College Kickoff preview show will air live from Aviva Stadium Saturday, Aug. 23 at 10:30 on Very Local.
