Darian DeVries welcomed in West Virginia
Drake basketball's former coach, Darian DeVries, made his debut in West Virginia Thursday.
DeVries started as the Bulldogs head coach in 2018. He signed with the West Virginia Mountaineers after Drake got knocked out of the Big Dance. DeVries made his pitch to fans and players Thursday.
"There's unbelievable tradition here," DeVries said in a news conference in Morgantown. "There's a great history here. There's a lot to sell. Unbelievable fanbase — passion. There's so much about this program that sells itself. It's an easy sell. People are interested, they want to be a part of it and they love our style of play."
DeVries' son Tucker, a two-time Missouri Valley Player of the Year, is going with him. Tucker DeVries committed to West Virginia Thursday morning.
