TO MIND. AND THAT IS QUITE THE SHED. NEW AT SIX. HUNDREDS OF DES MOINES STUDENTS ARE NOW READY FOR WINTER AFTER A BIG DONATION FROM INSURANCE COMPANY ATHENE THIS WEEK. THE COMPANY DONATED NEARLY 2300 COATS AT GARDEN AND STUDEBAKER ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS IN DES MOINES. vlog WAS AT STUDEBAKER TODAY AS STUDENTS RECEIVED THOSE WINTER COATS AND SNOW BOOTS. ATHENE AND DES MOINES PUBLIC SCHOOLS HAVE BEEN WORKING TOGETHER FOR MORE THAN 30 YEARS TO KEEP KIDS WARM IN THE WINTER MONTHS. COMPANY VOLUNTEERS SAY IT IS VERY REWARDING TO SEE THEM PICK UP THEIR NEW WINTER GEAR. IT’S LIKE CHRISTMAS MORNING. I MEAN, I SOMETIMES GET TEARED UP EVEN TALKING ABOUT IT BECAUSE TO BE ABLE TO HELP THEM TRY ON THE COATS AND PUT ON THOSE BOOTS, SOME OF THEM WEAR THEM OUT OF HERE. Hundreds of Des Moines students are now ready for winter after a big donation from insurance company Athene. The company donated nearly 2,300 coats and pairs of boots at Garton and Studebaker Elementary Schools in Des Moines. "I sometimes tear up even talking about it because to be able to help them try on the coats and put on those boots is a joy," said Rona Berinobis, spokesperson for Athene at Thursday's giveaway at Studebaker Elementary School. "Some of them wear them out of here. They go out at recess to put them on."Athene and Des Moines Public Schools have been working together for more than 30 years to keep students warm in the winter months. The donations will be spread out across six elementary schools in the district.
