INVESTIGATORS SAY SWANSON RECORDED THE EPISODE ON HER PHONE, BUT SHE DID NOT SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION. THAT WAS IN JULY OF LAST YEAR. THEN IN SEPTEMBER, THE COMPLAINT STATES, SWANSON USED, QUOTE, UNREASONABLE FORCE, WHICH CAUSED BRUISING AND SWELLING TO THE BABY’S GROIN AREA. IN EARLY OCTOBER. INVESTIGATORS SAY SHE HURT THE CHILD AGAIN, EITHER SHAKING OR STRIKING THE BABY, CAUSING SKULL FRACTURES, HEMATOMAS, HEMORRHAGES, CAUSING SEVERE DAMAGE TO THE BABY’S EYE AND A STROKE. THE CALHOUN COUNTY ATTORNEY WRITES IN THE COMPLAINT THAT SWANSON’S BOYFRIEND URGED HER TO SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION ON OCTOBER 2ND, BUT SHE DIDN’T DO SO FOR TWO DAYS. FOLKS WHO LIVE NEARBY SAY THEY NEVER KNEW SWANSON OR SAW THE BABY. THE INCIDENT HAS LEFT THEM FEELING WORRIED ABOUT WHAT WENT ON JUST A FEW HUNDRED FEET AWAY. IT’S VERY, VERY SAD. A CHILD HAD TO GO THROUGH THAT VERY INNOCENT LITTLE CHILD. AND THE FACT THAT I HAVE TWO SMALL KIDS MYSELF, A YEAR AND A HALF AND THREE. IT JUST IT MAKES ME SAD FOR THEM. THE COMPLAINT STATES SWANSON CLAIMED THE BABY’S INJURIES OCCURRED WHEN HE FELL FROM A SWING JUST SIX INCHES ABOVE THE GROUND. DOCTORS AND DHHS OFFICIALS DISPELLED THAT THEORY IN THE AFFIDAVIT. THE COMPLAINT SAYS SWANSON BLAMED MEDICAL STAFF FOR MALPRACTICE. THE COUNTY ATTORNEY DECLINED TO COMMENT ON THE CASE MONDAY, AND THE ROCKWELL CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT DID NOT RETURN vlog CALLS.
