But when Liv chose IU for her college journey, Reggie decided it was time to pursue his own degree as well."It’s going to be a great story to tell," Reggie said.Liv, a graduate of IU’s Media School with aspirations of becoming a sports reporter, said having her dad by her side made the experience even more meaningful.“There’s not one milestone I went through or he’s gone through that we haven’t been a part of together,” Liv shared.The duo supported each other through late-night study sessions, shared lunches on campus, and even attended classes together. Reggie, who earned his degree in tourism, hospitality and event management, said the journey was about more than just academics — it was about showing his daughter that anything is possible at any age.“It’s a tug on the heart to know that she’s completed so much, and I was able to go back and get this degree,” Reggie said.As they celebrated their shared milestone, Liv expressed her pride in her father. “It’s never been just about me through this process. I just couldn’t be more proud of him.”
