BREAKING NEW DETAILS ARE ALSO EMERGING ON WHAT LED TO AN IMMIGRATION ENFORCEMENT EFFORT IN SOUTH OMAHA TUESDAY, AND WHAT THE OPERATION LOOKED LIKE. HERE’S SOME OF THE FOOTAGE OF THE RAID. THE DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE JUST CONFIRMED CRIMINAL COMPLAINTS WERE REFERRED TO THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY. ACCORDING TO UNITED STATES ATTORNEY LESLIE WOODS, THE FEDERAL SEARCH WARRANT WAS CONDUCTED AS PART OF THE TAKE BACK AMERICA TASK FORCE OPERATION. THEY SAY HOMELAND SECURITY INVESTIGATIONS PERFORMED AN AUDIT OF GLEN VALLEY FOODS EMPLOYEE I-9 FORMS. THAT AUDIT REPORTEDLY REVEALED A LARGE NUMBER OF SUSPECTED FRAUDULENT IDENTIFICATION DOCUMENTS OR DOCUMENTS THAT DID NOT AUTHORIZE CERTAIN EMPLOYEES TO LEGALLY WORK HERE IN THE U.S. THE DOJ SAYS. THE AUDIT ALSO REVEALED THAT MULTIPLE IDENTITIES OF U.S. CITIZENS WERE BEING FRAUDULENTLY USED BY WORKERS AT THAT LOCATION. HSC SAYS THEY ENCOUNTERED 76 PEOPLE UNLAWFULLY PRESENT AT THAT FACILITY. SOME OF THE WORKERS WERE REPORTEDLY USING SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBERS NOT ISSUED TO THEM. WHILE THEY WERE DOING THEIR BEST TO QUICKLY PROCESS EVERYBODY AND TO IDENTIFY THEM AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE. AND THEN TO GET THEM TO MORE APPROPRIATE VENUES. WELL, THAT WAS JAMES WRIGHT. HE’S WITH CONGRESS, DON BACON’S OFFICE, AND HE WAS AT THE RAID. A U.S. attorney for the Department of Justice confirmed Homeland Security Investigations found "approximately 76 people" working illegally at an Omaha plant during an enforcement operation, vlog sister station KETV reports.A federal search warrant was executed at Glenn Valley Foods near 67th and J streets on Tuesday as part of the "Take Back America Task Force." It involved U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, HSI and other federal law enforcement agencies. They were looking for workers not authorized to work in the United States.In a news release, Attorney Lesley Woods said HSI performed an audit of employee I-9 forms at the plant to verify identity documents. That audit reportedly revealed a large number of suspected fraudulent documents and showed that multiple identities of U.S. citizens were being fraudulently used by workers at the plant.Victims of identity theft had reported complaints to HSI before the warrant was executed, according to the news release.Authorities said they found that approximately 76 workers at the plant were using Social Security numbers that were not their own. Several criminal complaints were also referred to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Nebraska. Criminal complaints included allegations of stolen identities, assaults on federal officers and damage to federal property, illegal reentry and other criminal concerns.The U.S. attorney's office said charges have not yet been determined, adding the investigation is ongoing.
