DISTRICT ONE. WE NEED SOMEONE WHO IS GOING TO FIGHT FOR THEM, AND THAT’S WHAT I’LL DO. DEMOCRAT CHRISTINA BOHANNAN HAS SPENT THE PAST TWO DECADES TEACHING LAW AT THE UNIVERSITY OF IOWA. SHE’S ALSO SERVED ONE TERM IN THE IOWA HOUSE, BUT NOW SHE’S SEEKING A SPOT ON CAPITOL HILL. WE’VE GOT TO GET BACK TO REPRESENTING THE PEOPLE, NOT SERVING OUR PARTY BOSSES, NOT JUST PLAYING THE BLAME GAME, YOU KNOW, NOT DOING WHAT OUR CORPORATE DONORS TELL US TO DO. BUT, YOU KNOW, REALLY JUST TALKING TO PEOPLE, SEEING WHAT THEY NEED AND GOING AND FIGHTING FOR IT IN WASHINGTON, DC. IS THERE A TIME WHEN YOU WERE SERVING IN THE STATE HOUSE THAT YOU CAN POINT TO WHERE YOU DISAGREED OR WENT AGAINST THE THE IOWA DEMOCRATIC PARTY? THE BILL THAT CAME THROUGH PROTECTING FREE SPEECH WAS A REALLY IMPORTANT ONE. I ALSO VOTED TO PROTECT RELIGIOUS FREEDOM IN THE STATE, INCLUDING FOR PEOPLE WHOSE RELIGIOUS BELIEFS ARE DIFFERENT FROM MY OWN. I WORKED ON CRACKING DOWN ON HUMAN TRAFFICKING, ON ELDER ABUSE. YOU KNOW, THOSE ARE ALL THINGS THAT AT WHERE I WORKED ON BILLS WITH THE OTHER PARTY AND GOT SOMETHING DONE. BOHAN IS RUNNING TO UNSEAT REPUBLICAN INCUMBENT MARIONETTE MILLER-MEEKS TO REPRESENT OWA’S FIRST CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT. THINGS LIKE PUBLIC EDUCATION, AFFORDABLE COLLEGE TUITION, SOCIAL SECURITY, MEDICARE. THOSE WERE LIFELINES FOR ME AND REALLY CHANGED MY LIFE. AND SO, YOU KNOW, AS I GO ALL OVER SOUTHEAST IOWA, I SEE A LOT OF PEOPLE WHO HAVE A LOT OF THE SAME STRUGGLES. AND I KNOW THAT THAT PUBLIC EDUCATION AND HEALTH CARE AND ALL OF THOSE THINGS, GOOD JOBS, YOU KNOW, THOSE ARE IMPORTANT FOR THEM TO. AND SO I’M FIGHTING FOR THEM. SHE SAYS SHE’S FIGHTING TO STOP CORPORATE PRICE GOUGING AND PROOF HEALTH CARE IN RURAL IOWA AND TURN DOWN THE TEMPERATURE ON DIVISIVE POLITICS. WE NEED SOMEBODY WHO TELLS THE TRUTH AND WE NEED SOMEBODY WHO IS GOING TO PUT PEOPLE AHEAD OF POLITICAL PARTY AND AHEAD OF CORPORATE INTERESTS. CHRISTINA BOHANNAN HAS SERVED ONE TERM IN THE IOWA HOUSE. SHE’S ALSO WORKED AS A LAW PROFESSOR AT THE UNIVERSITY OF IOWA FOR THE PAST 23 YEARS,
