On Sept. 5, 1987, Jamedia Hines was found strangled and beaten to death in the 1700 block of Oakland Avenue. Investigators said there was no evidence of a sexual assault, no fingerprints, and DNA use wasn't a common practice yet. Investigators learned new information in 2023, according to a news release, "but the missing piece is still out there."
