Three candidates for the Johnston School Board were reprimanded for violating Iowa Code regarding campaign signs. According to filings from the Iowa Ethics and Campaign Disclosure Board (IECDB), three candidates — Alicia Penner, Patrick Green and Connor Christenson — had signs on the property of ACCO Unlimited Corporation in the 5100 block of NW Johnston Drive. Under Iowa Code, campaign signs cannot be placed on property owned, leased or currently occupied by "prohibited contributors," which include corporations.During the IECDB meeting Tuesday evening, Chair James Albert said all three candidates and the property owner were contacted in the last two weeks."Each of them was spoken to," Albert said.
