STATE USE SNAP BENEFITS. BREAKING AT NOON GOVERNOR KIM REYNOLDS HAS OUTLINED HOW THE STATE WILL PROVIDE SUPPORT AS SNAP BENEFITS ARE SET TO EXPIRE ON SATURDAY. THE GOVERNOR SAYS SHE’S DIRECTED HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES AND VOLUNTEER IOWA TO RECRUIT AND DEPLOY VOLUNTEERS TO SUPPORT FOOD ASSISTANCE OPERATIONS THROUGHOUT THE STATE. ON TOP OF THAT, THE IOWA NATIONAL GUARD HAS BEEN ORDERED TO BE ACTIVATED. THE GUARD WILL BE AVAILABLE TO HELP WITH FOOD DISTRIBUTION MISSIONS THROUGHOUT THE STATE. THE STATE WILL ALSO MATCH CASH DONATIONS TO IOWA’S SIX REGIONAL FOOD PANTRIES.

Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds has outlined how the state will provide support as SNAP benefits are set to expire Saturday.The governor says she's directed Health and Human Services and Volunteer Iowa to recruit and deploy volunteers to support food assistance operations across the state.
