Iowa's biggest high school cross country meet of the year is spread over two days Friday, Oct. 31 and Saturday, Nov. 1, at Lakeside Municipal Golf Course in Fort Dodge.Friday's championships saw defending champions dominate. Three of the four individual winners won titles last year, including Western Dubuque's Quentin Nauman (3A), Marissa Ferebee of Pella (3A) and Grundy Center's Emerson Vokes (2A). Albia's McKenna Montgomery won the 2A girls' title. Nauman, who ran the fastest time among boys champions last year at 14:59.6, improved more than 10 seconds this year with a winning time of 14.48.3. The Pella girls and Gilbert boys both repeated as team champs in 3A Friday.
