The rays beat down on the 1700 solar cells that make up this barrel shaped car And it's all converted into enough energy to push this vehicle along at up to 60 mph. The car is very competitive, very lightweight. We have some engineers that have designed some incredible ideas that other schools have looked at and go, wow, we could do that before hitting the road to the starting line in Dallas. The students did *** little showing off son race 93 is the second such race of its kind pitting college against college and who can build *** better solar car. It's *** challenge these students take seriously. It's almost turned into an addiction. I mean, we just eat and breathe solar car. The car comes standard with single crystal laser etched, terrestrial grade solar cells and integral coil coil dampened suspension and an eight horsepower engine. All for the low, low sticker price of $200,000 batteries are included with that though sitting is *** little cramped, you get cramped up *** little bit, but it's no big deal. You should know though that there are *** few bugs to be worked out so the wheels are locked, you can't even push it, the wheel is locked somehow somewhere *** loose bolt stopped the car for *** few minutes on the way back to the garage, but *** crack pit crew had it rolling again in no time.
