The snow has moved out but the winter blast continues this morning with wind chills in the teens and single digits. Despite some sunshine, it will stay cold today and Monday before a warming trend starts to settle in.

Skies cleared out overnight as Saturday's rain and snow moved out of the region. The clearing skies allowed temperatures to fall off into the lower 20s and upper teens. Thankfully, most roadways were able to dry out before the frigid conditions moved in keeping most roads in good shape. Unfortunately, strong north winds gusting to around 30mph are keeping wind chills closer to 10 degrees, with single digits across northern Iowa.
The clear skies will give us some sunshine to start the day, but it will be a struggle to warm much even with that sun. Temperatures only reach into the low 30s this afternoon, well below average for this time of year. The gusty north winds will continue all day, keeping wind chills in the teens and 20s throughout the afternoon. Clouds will build back in during the afternoon, and could bring an isolated flurry or two, especially across the eastern half of the state.
Monday stays cold with morning temperatures near 20 degrees, and wind chills in the teens. Thankfully, it won't be quite as windy on Monday. Partly sunny skies will help temperatures to gain a little ground, pushing back into the upper 30s by the afternoon.
A big warming trend kicks in on Tuesday, a southwest wind will help temperatures to jump nearly 20 degrees. Highs on Tuesday should reach the mid to upper 50s, back above average for mid-November. We stay mild on Wednesday, with highs again in the upper 50s. By Thursday, we're talking low 60s for much of the state. And we don't stop there, highs on on Friday and Saturday could reach the mid to upper 60s, with some spots close to 70 degrees. Another storm system may impact the state next weekend, but until then the forecast remains dry.
