Damage to trees and downed power lines, with some power outages, is anticipated. Travel impacts are expected with high-profile vehicles. Loose objects will be blown around. A fast-moving line of severe thunderstorms is expected with damaging winds likely. Tornadoes are also possible with this storm system. Any fires that start may spread quickly. Blowing dust and low visibilities possible.Winds will pick up during the day with very strong winds out of the south, then out of the west in the evening, with sustained wind speeds of 30 to 40 mph and gusts of 60 to 70 mph. Winds of this magnitude are infrequent and a rare wind event for Iowa.
