VIDEO: Dog reunited with family 7 years later, after being rescued from Florida canal
A dog named Bella went missing seven years ago. She has now been reunited with her original family after a dramatic rescue in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Bella was found stuck on the edge of a canal, prompting a swift response from firefighters with Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue. And because she had been microchipped, Bella was able to be reunited with people who love her.
Lisa Nicholson, Bella's owner, told that she started crying when rescuers said to her, "Hey, we found your dog."
Bella had been given to a friend after her family experienced a house fire in 2018. That's because the new home they moved into didn't allow pets.
Unfortunately, the temporary arrangement turned permanent when the friend gave Bella away.
After moving north to St. Cloud, Florida, the family lost hope of ever seeing Bella again.
Fast forward seven years, Bella was rescued from the canal, and her microchip led firefighters back to her family.
