Thousands of Iowans without power after destructive storms

Thousands of power outages have been reported in Iowa as severe storms and tornadoes swept across Iowa Wednesday. As of Thursday morning, around 60,000 customers were without power in Iowa. Some of the hardest-hit counties are Wright County and Appanoose County. Around the metro, MidAmerican Energy reported about 2,200 customers without power at 11:00 a.m.Urbandale High School is not holding classes Thursday due to a power outage. It's just the high school and not the entire district, school officials told vlog.Willard Elementary School and King Elementary School in Des Moines are also without power.
