16-year-old graduating from University of Pittsburgh
WHILE MOST 16 YEAR OLDS MIGHT BE PLANNING FOR A WEEKEND AT THE MOVIES OR JUST HANGING OUT WITH FRIENDS, RAJA KRISHNASWAMY WILL BE GRADUATING FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF PITTSBURGH WITH A BACHELOR’S DEGREE SUNDAY. BIG DAY. I AM PROUD OF MYSELF. I MEAN, IT’S NOT IT’S NOT EVERY IT’S NOT EVERY 16 YEAR OLD THAT GRADUATE WITH A BACHELOR’S DEGREE IN COMPUTER SCIENCE. HE HAS GIVEN US A LOT OF JOY. BUT THIS IS A MILESTONE. AND HE HAS SAID HI GOALS FOR HIMSELF. SO SKY’S THE LIMIT FOR HIM. HIS PARENTS, RAJA AND MARIA, SAY THEIR SON’S LOVE OF LEARNING STARTED AT A VERY YOUNG AGE. HE WAS READING AT THE AGE OF THREE AND DOING ALGEBRA. A COUPLE YEARS AFTER THAT, I WENT TO PUBLIC SCHOOL, KINDERGARTEN AND. AND, UM, THEY WEREN’T CHALLENGING ME, SO MY PARENTS PUT ME IN A CYBER CHARTER SCHOOL, WHICH ALLOWED ME TO DO TWO GRADES IN ONE YEAR. SO AT NINE YEARS OLD, IT WAS OFF TO CCRC FOR COLLEGE. HE GRADUATED FROM THERE AT 13 WITH TWO ASSOCIATE’S DEGREES, ONE IN MATHEMATICS AND THE OTHER IN SOFTWARE ECONOMICS. RAJA SAYS LEARNING IS EXCITING. I’M GOING TO GET MY MASTERS NEXT YEAR. I’M. I’M, I’M IN THIS PROGRAM. THAT’S ANOTHER REASON I WENT TO PITT. YOU KNOW, HIS CHRISTMAS LIST HAD 30 BOOKS ON DIFFERENT MATHEMATIC TOPICS. I MEAN, HIS LIST WAS THIS BIG AND MOST OF THEM ARE BOOKS. SO THAT’S WHAT HE WANTS. HE HIT THE BOOKS HARD AT PITT, BUT HASN’T FORGOTTEN THE PEOPLE WHO HELPED HIM ALONG THE WAY AND THE LASTING FRIENDSHIPS HE’S MADE ON CAMPUS. I’M THANKFUL TO MY MOM AND DAD. I’M THANKFUL TO ALL THE PROFESSORS WHO’VE TAUGHT ME. I’M THANKFUL TO THE WONDERFUL PEOPLE WHO I’VE MET, FRIENDS I’VE MADE HERE AT PITT. I’M STILL FRIENDS WITH THEM. IT WAS JUST AWESOME.
