RAGBRAI history: Tracking every RAGBRAI route from 1973 to 2025

RAGBRAI history: Tracking every RAGBRAI route from 1973 to 2025
COMING UP. OKAY. SEE YOU IN A BIT, JASON. THANK YOU. RIGHT NOW, PEOPLE IN GREENFIELD ARE MAKING REMARKABLE PROGRESS AFTER LAST MONTH’S TORNADO. IT’S BEEN THREE WEEKS SINCE A DEADLY EF FOUR TORE THROUGH GOVERNOR REYNOLDS SAW THE CLEANUP EFFORTS UP CLOSE TODAY, AND WE LEARNED GREENFIELD IS GEARING UP TO HOST RAGBRAI RIDERS IN JULY. PLANS WERE, OF COURSE, UNCERTAIN AFTER THE STORMS, vlog AFFILIATE JACOBSON TALKED WITH ORGANIZERS WHO SAY THE RIDE WILL GO ON. THERE IS A MOMENT WHEN WHEN CARROLL WOOSLEY DIDN’T THINK GREENFIELD WOULD BE ABLE TO HOST RAGBRAI RIDERS THE DAY AFTER WE ALL WENT INTO A PANIC. BUT FAST FORWARD THREE WEEKS. IT’S ALL GOING TO BE GOOD. THE TOWN IS NOW GEARING UP TO DO WHAT THEY ONCE THOUGHT WAS IMPOSSIBLE. RIDERS WILL ROLL THROUGH GREENFIELD ON DAY THREE BETWEEN ATLANTIC AND WINTERSET. WE JUST WANT YOU TO COME AND MAYBE EVEN JUST GIVE US A HUG BECAUSE WE MIGHT NEED ONE. THE TOWN CHANGED ITS THEME FOR THE DAY FOLLOWING THE DEADLY TORNADO. IT’S GREENFIELD STRONG, UH, RISING AFTER THE STORM. AND LAURIE WITH RAGBRAI SAYS THEY’VE BEEN WORKING CLOSELY WITH THE COMMUNITY TO PREP FOR THE BIG DAY. WE’RE JUST EXCITED TO DO WHATEVER THAT THEY WANT TO DO AND SUPPORT THEM IN ANY WAY THAT WE CAN SUPPORT THEM THIS YEAR. ON ROUTE, THE OFFICIAL ROUTE OR GREENFIELD HASN’T BEEN RELEASED YET, BUT ORGANIZERS SAY THE PROPOSED MAP HAS CHANGED. THE NEW ROUTE WILL TAKE RIDERS THROUGH SOME OF THE DEVASTATION LEFT BEHIND BY THE STORM. YOU JUST CAN’T BELIEVE IT UNTIL YOU SEE IT, WOOSLEY SAYS. THEY UNDERSTAND PEOPLE WILL WANT TO SEE THE DESTRUCTION, BUT THEY WANT TO BE IN CONTROL AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. WE WANT THEM TO BE SAFE WHILE THEY’RE DOING IT. SO THIS WAY WE CAN KIND OF PICK A ROUTE FOR THEM. RIDERS WILL ALSO MAKE A STOP IN THE HISTORIC TOWN SQUARE, WHICH WAS LEFT UNTOUCHED BY THE STORM. LAURIE SAYS SHE’S EXCITED FOR RIDERS TO SEE IT ALL. THEY CAN SEE FIRSTHAND THE DEVASTATION THAT HAPPENED, BUT ALSO THE RESILIENCY OF THAT COMMUNITY AND WHAT THAT COMMUNITY HAS DONE TO STAND ITSELF BACK UP. WE WANT EVERYBODY TO KNOW GREENFIELD’S NOT GOING DOWN WITHOUT A FIGHT, AND WOOSLEY SAYS SHE HAS NO DOUBT WELL, OF COURSE IT IS, GREENFIELD WILL BE THE HIGHLIGHT OF THIS YEAR’S RIDE IN GREENFIELD. OPHELIA JACOBSON, vlog EGHT NEWS IOWA’S NEWS LEADER, AND IT IS CERTAINLY GOING TO BE A HIGHLIGHT. THAT’S FOR SURE. GREENFIELD IS LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS TO HELP WITH THE RIDE. YOU CAN FIND A FORM TO SIGN UP IN THE W
