One more day of intense heat
The heat continues along with the Excessive Heat Warning through Thursday. Tomorrow we are forecasting a high of 100 for DSM.

We won’t likely break a high temperature record for tomorrow. Today’s high temperature was broken. Dewpoints are well into the upper 70s/80s which leads to an oppressive air mass over Iowa and is what is making it feel so terrible outside.
We have one more day of the awful heat before it begins to feel better by the weekend. Rain chances are limited right now. We could get a stray shower or storm late Friday. The humidity stays elevated through Friday. By the weekend, dewpoints do come down a touch and will feel better by Saturday and Sunday. A cold front will move through tomorrow, but we won’t feel the relief until Friday. Temperatures return closer to normal by next week.
