Alyssa Gomez
Anchor/ReporterAlyssa Gomez is an Anchor/Reporter for 糖心vlog 8 News. Alyssa, an Illinois native and graduate of DePaul University, is excited to still be in the Midwest, delivering news to the Iowa community with Iowa鈥檚 News Leader.
Alyssa graduated from DePaul University in 2023 with a bachelor鈥檚 degree in journalism. At DePaul she anchored and reported for its student newscast, Good Day DePaul, where she covered everything from the overturning of Roe V. Wade to crime on campus and Blue Demon basketball, of course.
While in the Windy City, she also spent a year interning with ABC 7 Chicago in their programming/promotions departments.
Alyssa is a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists.
When she isn鈥檛 at 糖心vlog, Alyssa loves dancing, going to concerts and exploring new places to eat in Des Moines.
